Poetry Challenge Day 306 (Sat Aug 6)
What do you do
when someone tells you
they don’t love you.
Well, maybe not exactly like that,
but in so many words.
While this is a crushing event,
there isn’t a lot you can do.
You can’t tell people how to think.
It’s probably not even productive
to try and do that.
In the final analysis,
it’s up to each of us
to determine how much damage
we want to do to the people around us
and to ourselves.
